actually antidepressants or anti-anxiety medication made your condition worse. Panic attack is psychology condition, deal with the psychology need, tell me your condition in detail, maybe I can help, I had that experience before and I had overcome it.

I take Celexa (Generic - Citalopram) for anxiety. I've had some minor and some major anxiety attacks over the past 2 years that have not gotten worse, but the frequency has increased. I started on meds 5 weeks ago and have felt better I would say the past 3 weeks.

He said it doesn't take full effect for about 2 months though, so you may need to hang in there and be patient. And you can talk to someone about this - your doctor. BTW, my medicine warns that it could cause suicidal thoughts in young people (teens) so you need to also read the warnings that came with your drug - if that's a side effect you are feeling - call your doctor tomorrow!

Hi,

I have been through something very similar with my mother. It's amazing how something
can tear apart your life like that. It hit her the hardest when I was getting ready
to move out of the house to my own apartment. She took pills for it, but they only got
her so far.

We tried several different things all ending in the same result. I'm not sure if there is
a way to completely get rid of it, but there are things that can help. I know that it
does run in the family. ONE of the things that helped her out a lot was a site we can across
online while searching for help. If you're interested follow the link below and best of luck
to you.

All you may need is a beta blocker. That will block the symptoms of the attack without you having to take "mind altering" drugs.

Once you get the symptoms under control you can better assess why you are having the attack as you will not be FOCUSED on your symptoms.

You might also try to learn some relaxation techniques or even bio-feedback.

Ativan is great for anxiety, but highly addictive. What you need to do is not concentrate on your panic attacks, learn how to refocus yourself by picking an object such as a painting, look at it picture yourself in the painting, look at the colors, the scenery and any other details in the painting . This type of refocusing works. I suffered from severe anxiety attacks after my dad passed away (they would wake me up from a dead sleep)and they put me on Xanax and Valium and Ativan(all at different times) and none seem to work as well as the refocusing

I take atavan and it helps but sometimes I just need to smell lavender and it helps to calm me. I have been diagnosed with a panic disorder for about three years now. But when they are too much to handle I take my atavan or drink a beer.
