i bought my comp like a year ago and it only had a 30 day trial of all of those. now i'm using some knockoff versions that came with it called microsoft works. they have everything except powerpoint so it kinda sux...

yer dude i think you'd pay like once in a life but some people are just smart enough to know you can find copied versisons of it for free in many places :O

You pay just once.

The MS Office Suite is great, if you can afford it. If not, you might want to try Open Office. I have heard it is similar to MS Office and is freeware. Read about it and download:

Currently, you pay just once, however, I have a feeling that in the future Microsoft will "lease" their software. It's much easier to control the market that way. You don't want to move to Vista? Too bad. Your lease on XP is up and we're not renewing it.
