Yes, of course. The PS3 can play Blu-Ray DVD's, regular DVD's and CD's.

The PS3 also upconverts regular DVD's to a higher resolution as well.

I got a PS3. And yes, the (my) PS3 plays regular DVDs. I also tried foreign movies and it worked.
P.S. That is a lot of DVDs!

Yes with better picture and sound quality.Also plays blue-ray disks.Have fun thats alot of dvds too.
