i recently was prescribed some medicine called alprazolam and i take it at bedtime. I want to know how many hours before i take this medicine and how many hours after this medicine can i drink alcohol i love drinking sometimes so does any one know i just dont want to mix alcohol with this

Alcohol and medication can be a deadly mix. If this Alprazolam is a nerve medication or muscle relaxant, alochol is a deadly mix with this medication. I have to take Phenobarbital, Dilantin and Valium for a seziure disorder (epilepsy). Alcohol is a deadly mix with these medications. I would suggest leaving alochol alone while taking this. Although I can't make you, I still suggest leaving the alochol alone.

Alprazolam is one of benzodiazepines. Drinking alcoholic beverages while taking it may increase side effects such as drowsiness, confusion, and dizziness. Alcohol + alprazolam can have an increased central nervous system depression. Consequently, someone taking alprazolam should avoid drinking alcohol, to stay on the safe side .

Alprazolam is a nerve relaxant as far as I know . You can drink after the drowsiness wear off. But donot take the medicine after alchohol or on a hang over mood it will be depressing. Read the contraindications of the medicine carefully. You won't need alchohol if you take this medicine.

alprozolam is sedative hypnotic drug taken once daily before bed and you should not drink alcohol except a little bit amount while taking this drug
