I think it's a little bit wierd because I think an important part of God Parents' jobs is to help raise a child in faith.

However, you got the endorsement from his parents. Who would be better to make the choice?

Good luck. I hope you have a lot of fun and educational experiences with your nephew. I recomend fishing, camping, and water parks as great ways to spend time with youngsters (and adults for that matter).

Not really weird ..... they are showing their trust in you to care for their child IF something ever happens to them... I am sure they have taken into account your atheism.... and they still trust you to do what is right when/if the time comes.... their wishes !!!!!! A child can be brought up Christian by an atheist..... go in peace....... God bless

I am a Buddhist, and I am the godmother of a child christened in the United Church of Canada. His godfather is a Roman Catholic.

Either your godson's parents are not particularly devout, or they respect your spiritual commitment in spite of your not being of their faith.
