My guess is that it would be French.
If you know English, then the ease st language to learn is German and it probably outranks French in terms of medical literature contributions.
BUT, French is more based on Latin, so my guess is that it would be more helpful in terms of learning medical terminology.
In terms of doing missionary work, Haiti (which has French as an official language) is the most poverty stricken country in the Western Hemisphere, therefore your French could prove useful in getting your medical knowledge to help them.

Latin is the language of science....in the past "educated " people from all over the world would converse in latin.
Its still a big part of science today.....as latin is kind of close to Italian and Italian and French are romantic languages.. maybe french would be the better option if you have it. German words are quite long and descriptive, but really in a science way.......if you could take latin that would be best tho.

Knowing Latin fundamentals gives you a heads up as to the derivation of many medical terms. Greek helps too, but you can pick some of that up on your own.
I found French to be much easier than German, even though my father was German-born. (He dared not teach it to me when I was growing up during WWII)
By the time you graduate, translation programs will have improved to the point that it will matter little in what language scientific papers are written. Nevertheless, command of a second language is always an asset.
