To answer your question, you must understand 1 fact. That is,you can spot train a particular muscle group (eg.abs),but you CANNOT spot reduce a particular group of fat!
Hence,in order to have better abs, there are basically 3 things you can do.
1.Reduce the fats covering your abs. This can be done by doing aerobic exercise e.g jogging, skipping
2.Strengthen and build your abs muscle. This can be done by doing anaerobic exercise e.g crunches
3.Avoid oily, sugary food and beverages.Have a balanced diet with vege and fruits every meal.

Hope you have better abs soon!

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.

I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.

It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

you can't spot reduce. the midsection is where fat gain starts and ends. the only way to get rid of abdominal fat is by decreasing the body fat % until you see the desired results in that area. abdominal training has absolutely no effect on fat in that area. the diet that you follow determines the level of body fat not the types of exercises that are performed.

great abs are made in the kitchen, not the gym

No such thing as spot reduction sorry to say.
Gotta do Cardio to burn that layer of fat, and if you want to strengthen/ tone the stomach do Crunches and such.
