You have probably heard preachers use the "roast" analogy or figure of speech but that saying isn't in the Bible. True, it does say that those who do not believe are condemned already and that the Lake of Fire is the everlasting punishment for such people.
Pointing a gun at my head? I think not. Rather, it's a warning to believe in Christ and His offer of salvation, or this is what you'll wind up with if you don't. I don't read of a single time in Scripture where Jesus Himself forced anyone to believe or not believe. He told it like it was and let the listener decide.
Finally, remember that Jesus spoke about Hell a lot more than He did about Heaven. That tells me something right there. But you won't see violence of any kind with Jesus when it comes to believing. He will respect your choice but He will either be Savior or Judge depending on the choice you make. We believers have an obligation to share our faith and try to answer your questions, assuming you do want to hear our side of the story.

The "you's" I am using are in the general term only.
It is all about respect. Jesus died on the cross for our sins so that we can have a chance at eternal life and all he asks is for us to believe. he was beaten nearly to death, nailed on a cross and stabbed. You do that and see if you don't want respect for those you did it for. If they won't even believe it then why should they get to enjoy the heaven he created for his saints? If you don't believe in Jesus, then you believe in Satan. It's one or the other. Satan is rolling in sin and temptations and anger against Christians. Satan has a place just for you too but it is no heaven. if you won't believe in Jesus, your sins are not forgiven and you will toast forever in hell.
It isn't about believing someone else "or else". Its wheather or not one wants to take the chance of eternal firey torment just so they can go ahead and do as they please here on earth. Our rewards for how ever we lived are after death. Or the second comming. I will not take the chance of being left behind.
It's everyone personal choice. No one makes it for us. We stand alone on judgement day.
All we have to do is give our heart to Jesus and let him to the rest. You will love what he does.

I've made the same argument for the flaw against religion if you feel the inclination to check my previous question under "Question about Hell". Otherwise I don't see much point in the "or else" argument. I've heard of people who have assisted in bank robberies for the "or else" reason, and they were upstanding citizens that happened to cross the wrong person's path.

What do you have against guns?
Look at the Swiss. More firearms per capita there than in ANY other country in the world (including the USA) and gun crime is, literally, unheard of.
It's not the item that is the problem, it's the culture.

I don't believe in that kind of logic. G-d would never let our souls suffer for eternity in a supposed Hell. I feel with certain actions come consequences. the place we go is more like an afterlife then fire and brimstone. I couldn't imagine what it would be like, but I would much rather go to Heaven. I feel that if you repent and seek atonement that G-d will forgive what you have done.
I feel Hell is only a scare tactic for a church who can't keep it's members in check.

Well it is hypocritical as all get out. You have the loving teachings of Jesus on one hand and instilling fear on the other.
