So am I, prairiecrow. I'm trying to figure out whether or not I should call this church, and wham! goodbye question. Some Christians are straight-up sickos. All about censorship.

You're right to an extent, Paula. But she certainly isn't in need of food or clothing. And this church knows that. I think she told them some Jesus words, and they ate it up. It just kills me that, after all these years of ripping off my family when we tried to give her a place to stay, she's gonna once again rip off a family. I'd bet my bottom dollar that there's a family this church can find who needs a car for work. And I guarantee that my sister is gonna sell this car for dope if she gets it. It sickens me.

I think they're not helping the situation. Addicts tend to be very selfish and not appreciate or care for what is generously given to them. Their addiction sometimes drives them to what are, for most people, extraordinary acts of deception and theft. Charity is probably wasted on the majority of them.

(Sorry about what happened to your last question, by the way.)

I would think they were in error. However, I have been in church all my life. Its hard not to help someone claiming to be in need. The Bible does demand us to be benevolent. Churches do get used @ times. But I'd,personally, rather help a junkie than not. Maybe they are a junkie.BUT are they truly in need of food, clothing, etc.? If so, we should help them. Besides, these days all religious organizations know better than to give anybody cash money. Most churches won't even give money to members. But instead pay a bill for them w/ a check, for example.

Christians are supposed to help out people correct? Junkies are people the last time I checked, but I could be wrong.

I would think that this church may only be seeing one side of the junkie. Addicts are very good at covering up their negative behavior when they want something out of you.
