I hear christians say if you don't obey gods word you will go to hell and burn for eternity, but that doesn't make sense why would the devil do gods work for him. If someone denounces god and was sent to hell wouldn't the devil welcome them with open arms and not want to torture them being that he is gods enemy. I think hell is a condition not a place, christians make it seem like a place so they can scare people into believing, plus god is supposed to be a forgiving god it doesn't seem fare to send someone to hell for eternity for something that lasted for say 30 40 50 or 60 years, god doesn't seem fear and just or forgiving.

Your use of the term "christians" as a generic term gives the impression that you think you know what Christian doctrine consistes of -- clearly you have been listening to Peter Ruckman on TV or some other protestant neanderthal - (note: the word is fair, not fare). I do not intend to trivialize you query however, since these childlike questions are the common stuff dealt with by the Scholastics in the Middle Ages. George Bernard Shaw once quipped that sinners should be very happy in Hell since was made for them. Before really giving you the highly complex and profound answer you deserve, it is necessary for you to know a great deal more, and acquire more historical knowledge that you presently have. The answer will make no sense until you have more sophistication for dealing with abstract and mythological sources of truth -- the primitive religiosity of the average protestant evangelical preclude serious intellectual discussion. However, if you would seriously like to push back the boundaries to your present status, I recommend you read "Screwtape Letters" and, more importantly, "The Great Divorce" by Prof. C.S. Lewis. Then ask me again.

Ohh..no no, that so incorrect, the only possible way to go to hell is if you don't accept Christ as your Lord. in John 3:16 is even says that who shall ever believe in me shall not perish *means going to Hell* but have everlasting life*goes to heaven*" God doesn't want the devil to bad stuff, he has no desire whatsoever..to do such horrible things, the Devil is totally hating God. So the Devil makes his own choices. The Devil coming in with open arms? thats not right!! God is the one who does that, not the Devil, he's the one thats gets you confused...so he can torture you. Some Christians do try to scare people from Hell, when they shouldn't thats your choice..we give you the news and you choose. no, there is no time limit.... Once again..God forgives...Don't you know even though people killed Christ God still loves them!!! Even Jesus does.

Listen to Bill F, he's got it exactly right. I thought the Devil was kicked out for loving God too much.

the Devil is still afraid of the Lord's amazing love. He is not God's equal enemy.

I do not know how Jesus judges who goes to hell or heaven. Its isnt really my business to know either. I'll find out later where i am going, but i'm trying to reserve my place as well as I can.

( FWI We do not try to scare people in believing. Especialy methodists like myself. )

The devils true followers wish to be tortured. Why the hell else would you worship the devil? To tell ya the truth, if there is a hell, its not fire and torture, but the absence of light and love. The negative of all energies.

More nonsense dogma. 'The devil never tortured his followers'. It is all man made nonsense. Tis a pity.

Seems lilke the only torture is from a g_d.
