The Christian always has to make a decision about whether to do good or otherwise. You can do all the right things with the wrong motive and miss out on God by a mile. We always have that choice. You may be able to argue that people who are strong in their faith do good without thinking about it, but they still have a choice. Love always gives you a choice. You can always walk away from it. You can always choose to reject the One you love. If you don’t have that choice, it isn’t love.

Salvation is free. It is a free gift from God. It also frees us from living the life of slavery to sin. We can choose to do the things of God without guilt. This is the message of Romans 6-9. The law of the Old Testament was restrictive. The law of Grace gives us a chance to serve God as something we want to do. As opposed to being forced to remain in our sin.

No one can earn Heaven (salvation). It is a gift offered right up the very last second of life, regardless of how sinful a life you may have lived up to that point. It is true that the way one lives now will greately influence your decision at that time; however, it still remains true that last second conversions are still possible. Despair, preceded by pride, could cost one his salvation, but only up to that last second. It is simply best not to wait until that last second. This is actually Catholic teaching.

It is free because it is available to all at no cost to you. Believe it or not, once you accept salvation you still have your free will (you can sin and will sin), you are still free (how many Christians do you know that live under lock and key and can't come and go as they please?), you still have your own way of thinking (ever wonder why the Christians can't even agree on everything?), you still live your life the way you want (even though how you want to live your life may change), and you don't HAVE to live by the Bible, you CHOOSE to. Sounds like free to me!

When we accept Christ we actually acquire freedom ... freedom from our addictions. A drunk men gains freedom from the bottle, smoker's lips gain freedom from the cigarrete, and so on. When we accept Christ, our bondage to sin is broken. Instead of being slaves to sin, we are free to enjoy life more abundantly, the way God intended it to be.
God does not want salvation to be miserable for us. He longs for us to happy, to enjoy life, to have peace that no one can take away. The devil wants to paint a miserable picture in our mind of what it means to be a Christian, so no one will want to be one. But in reality, being saved means a restoration of what was lost by Adam and Eve ... happiness, peace, joy in living. All of this is available as a free gift. All we do is ask, and it's ours.
I recommend the amazing book called "Broken Chains" by Doug Batchelor which deals with the victory over addictions. It is very short and you can read it online.

That's a great question. It is free, because we cannot earn salvation no matter how hard we try. We cannot pay for it with money, God will not bargain with us, we cannot work our way to it, we can never be good enough, righteous enough, give enough, etc. The attempt to try to qualify ourselves for salvation ends in futility because God is holy and we are not. But God, in His grace, sent His Son to do for us what we could never do for ourselves, live perfectly, die for sinners, and rise again to give His people eternal life. It is a gift of grace, "you are saved by grace though faith and that NOT OF YOURSELVES, NOT OF WORKS, lest any man should boast." ('Ephesians 2:8-9). It cost God everything to redeem a people for Himself. Yes, it costs us our life as Jesus told us that His disciples forsake all to follow Him. I believe this refers to repentance in that we come to our senses and see our sin as God sees our sin, and instead of rationalizing it, hiding from it, pretend it doesn't exist, we admit, forsake all forms of self righteousness, and trust totally in the saving work of Christ to forgive us and cleanse us. However, Jesus said the truth will set us free (John 8:32), and the Apostle Paul said in II Corinthians 4, the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty. Galatians 5:1 and 13 tell us to stand fast in the liberty where Christ has set us free. Romans 6 is another good passage on Christian freedom. Far from binding, it is liberating. We are no longer in bondage to sin though every Christian still does sin and must continually repent, not because they have lost their relationship with God, but because they have lost their closeness, their fellowship with Him. And God forgives when we confess our sin (I John 1:9). Besides, His ways are always better than ours. (Proverbs 3:5-6).

well let me revise a Little what i said in my question a min ago,,, salvation is a free gift given from Jesus. and nothing we can do to earn it or deserve it , only because he loves us not because we loved him. but if you did not have to give up anything than all would be saved. would they not.?the total cost of salvation Jesus paid,,, man kind had the death penalty on us and we were guilty as charged,,, but Jesus said ,,, I will pay there price ,...and that's what we have to except. but we have to follow him, and we are free ,,in Him.. not to do as we will but to to his will , but if you love him its not taking your freedom away,, does a wife say to her husband i don't want to be with you no more because i cant sleep with other guys ,,not if she loves him,,,same thing,,,we are the bride of Christ,,,,prayers

The gift of salvation is free.It is the free gift of God.He paid for your salvation with his own blood and his own life.
But salvation is your choice. There is no such thing as universal salvation. Salvation is only for those that want it and ask for it. God is not going to force it on you. But you should consider the alternative. God will not send you to hell but you may very well send yourself.

We do not have to pay money to be saved. I have way more freedom than before, I still can make my own decisions and I am more happy than before I got saved also. When you experience it, you will understand why Jesus is so wonderful to have as a friend.

not at all. firstly, we say salvation is free because the price for that salvation has been paid for by someone else -- Jesus Christ.
secondly, because of what Christ did for us on the cross, we are set free from the bondage of sin, death and the devil.
thirdly, because we have acknowledged Christ to be our Lord, his will now becomes also our will. we become truly free, his way of thinking becomes our way of thinking, his way of life becomes our way of life, living by his Word. therefore, with st. john, we say, if the Son of Man sets you free, then you are free indeed.
