The metabolites of Soma (Carisoprodol HCl) are usually detectable for up to two days in urine drug testing. However, other tests are highly sophisticated that it can show up longer.

Carisoprodol is eliminated by both renal and non-renal routes with a terminal elimination half-life of approximately 2 hours. Its metabolites meprobamate half-life is approximately 10 hours.

Soma's metabolite which is Meprobamate can trigger a positive Enzyme Multiplied Immunoassay (EMIT) result in urine screening test but will likely NOT be confirmed on follow-up GC-MS (Gas chromatography - mass spectrometry) testing unless they are looking specifically for it's presence.

Take note that Soma is not in the list of drugs of abuse that are routinely tested,so even if initial test will give a positive result, confirmation test will clear it up.

What should I avoid while taking carisoprodol?

Carisoprodol can cause side effects that may impair your thinking or reactions. Be careful if you drive or do anything that requires you to be awake and alert.
Cold or allergy medicine, narcotic pain medicine, sleeping pills, muscle relaxers, and medicine for seizures, depression or anxiety can add to sleepiness caused by carisoprodol. Tell your doctor if you regularly use any of these other medicines.
Avoid drinking alcohol. It can increase drowsiness and dizziness caused by carisoprodol.
