The vet can lance it, it's infected and will abscess. Yes, it hurts, and it's stretching the skin. Inside is pus, which must be let out so the area can heal.
Don't lance it yourself. If he lets you, hold a warm/hot wet washcloth to the area fo 5 minutes three times a day, that'll get the infection to the surface so it can burst. Once it does, use a kleenex patted to the wound to get all the goo. It looks awful, but it's not. Twice a day pat out all the goo you can, this wound has to heal from the inside out, so keep the wound open and clean as you can. The hair will grow back. The hole will close.
Usually abscesses stay between the skin and the muscle, sort of floating there, but they can go deeper if they're near joints, ear canals, etc. Antibiotics like Clavamox are usually given to help the cat heal faste and fight off the infection, so I would recommend getting him checked at the vets with this. You didn't say it was near his eyes, so that's a good thing. But by his ears I'd be sure to have a vet check him--that could cause a lot of pressure near the ear drum.

Hi
yes take him to the vets for a antibiotic injection. Cats caryy lots of nasty bacteria in their nmouths and so when a cat get a bite from another cat it is almost certain that it will become infected. to stop it getting any worse and to help it heal quicker the only answer is a trip to the vets.

Cat bites get infected VERY easily, and usually need medical treatment. Call the vet, because your cat likely needs antibiotics (probably intravenously).
If not, there is a good chance the infection will spread and he will die.

This is common when cats fight. It is an abscess. 3 things that you can do. Either take the cat to the vet and have them lance it and give your cat antibiotics. Or you can get your vet to prescribe antibiotics and let the abscess slowly go away. Or you can do nothing and it will probably rupture and still need antibiotics. I personally choose the antibiotics and slow method. Good Luck.

Uhm did she get bit by using some thing. A spider or insect? Take her to the vet, if she's allergic to a minimum of a few thing it could make it difficult for him/her to respire? And if its a chew it might desire to be poisonous.
