That was funny!
whitening solutions first work by dehydrating your teeth. That's why so many times you take the whitening solution off and your like "wow they are white" then by the end of the day when your teeth have recovered you think they aren't so White anymore.
I can see how a dehydrating product and abrasive like salt would do this as well. Abrasives help polish away stain. The Baking Soda is also an abrasive.
Side effects of both are the wearing away of enamel which can cause sensitivity. Though salt is the worse of the two as it is a larger molecule.

Combined together salt and baking soda, make a good substitute for toothpaste. No ill side effects.

Baking Soda will whiten your teeth....in about 3 years or so. Salt will not.
BTW both will wear away the enamel on your teeth after time....

when u eat something that has salt on it cause any side effects? think about it, and they make toothpaste with baking soda.

Baking soda is the first toothpaste, look it up, it taste like garbage, but it does clean the surface of your teeth so you can feel that smooth surface of your teeth.

the worst that will happen after swallowing baking soda is you will burp if you have heartburn it will make it dissapear try it sometime 1 teaspoon in about 6 oz water lot cheaper than Tums and its natural

the baking soda reacts with the asid in your mouth to clean your teeth,dont swollow it ....
