Jehovah's Witnesses do you feel that the unity of the society is cracking?

I see a lot of newer Witnesses poorly educated in Witness theology, almost no knowledge of older Witness history.
Is this a good or a bad thing?


They are changing their stand on Blood.
They are changing their understanding of when the gentile times actually ended.

How much "New Light" can you take before you start questioning whether this light EVER did come form God?

I like to do research from the Society's own publications. The further back I can look at the teaching on a particular subject, the more meaningful my understanding becomes.

The Watchtower Society has been at the cutting edge of technology since its inception. Electronic publishing, electronic media and internet technology have been their tools as soon as they were available.

It's not necessary to go beyond the WT-published information to understand what has changed and what remains the same.

For example, if you use the Watchtower Library CD and search on the word "apostate," the oldest hit is from the Watchtower of November 1, 1951, which refers to "apostate Christendom."

Then again, there's the Watchtower article of May 1, 2000, called "Firmly Uphold Godly Teaching" which calls anyone who disagrees with them "apostate," and followers of Satan.

Fine.

Search that same CD on the search key "blood fractions" Read each article carefully. In fact, put it in chronological order.

Do not read "apostate" material. Only read WT-published material from your Watchtower Library CD.

Is it complicated, convoluted, non-specific and life-threatening? YOU DECIDE.

Now, go to a dictionary and look up "hoist on his own petard."

I think I am fairly young and have studied with the Witnesses most of my life (30 years). Never have I seen them change their stand on anything you have mentioned.

There is older history, such as when a lot of Witnesses thought the end would be 1914. But when it never came, a lot of people turned away in frustration. It was later when it was realized that that particular date was the end of Satan's freedom to go between heaven and earth and was cast down. That is why the scripture states woe to the earth for the dragon has been cast down to you having great anger and a short period of time. If you look at world history, the world basically went nuts around this time frame when Satan and his demons were cast out to the earth.

I respect the fact that the Witnesses said that they messed up on this matter. How many other religions would do that? Most of them keep teaching the false doctrine as opposed to teaching the truth because they care more about looking bad.

Also, there are just humans. They are not perfect. The bible says to keep seeking the truth as if you're seeking buried treasure. Well, if they were just handed all the answers, what purpose would that scripture serve?

Did you learn about the history yourself or with the help of apostates? You and opposers believe any misinformation they tell you, which is sad.

Once we show how you and others are wrong,you run off and try to find something else to attack us with. Maybe you should consider what we say, rather than being ignorant.


Take "Sinners Like Me" for example: I discuss the Bible with him on AIM. After 30 minutes of discussion he said he had to go, and he said he will discuss it another day.. Now that day has past, and now he won't accept any of my emails or messages at all..

Thats a typical tactic of someone who doesn't want to truth.

lol, he knows what hes doing, but....well.. you get the point :-)

You know what I find funny? You opposers rarely use the Bible when talking with one of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Also, do you know the past of Christendom? If you did, you will find some really interesting things about it.

In my Plant Pathology classes, I do not go into an in-depth study of pesticides like DDT that are no longer in use due to their dangerous side-effects. We just learn of their existence, why they were used, and why they are not used now. We concentrate on the modern and time-tested pesticides, because studying the out-dated ones is a waste of the academic year.

Witnesses know about the discarded beliefs as Bible knowledge increased, but there is no need to get into the nitty-gritty of those teachings when we have fresher knowledge. That would be a waste of Bible study time.

Seeing you guys are Oh-so-Knowledgeable, why don't you show us (from the Bible) what is the true light in your eyes?
If you have really found something better, why can't you be manly and show that you are satisfied with your new life, instead of acting like children deprived of their candy?

There are some people living with mommy and daddy so they also have to take it to consideration that they need a roof over their head. New Light might be embarrassing to deal with, but they do not have any other choice but accept it.

this is for the bunch of folks who are not jw's, never were, and want to know if new light is a change in basic doctrine.

nope. it is not.

1- jehovah is still the name of the creator
2- jesus is still his son, the master worker, the one at his right
3- this is still the final time, and preaching work is still on
4- satan is still blinding the unbelievers
5- satan still wants the believers to quit and follow him
6- there are only a small # to serve in heaven as priests
7- this fella is NOT one of them :-)
8- jw's are still imperfect, just as peter, noah, isaiah were.
9- armageddon is still gonna get most of mankind.
