Welll, (please I already know I'm stupid - so please dont rub it in my face) I made a dumb mistake. I have braces and i decided one bite of an apple wouldn't hurt, but of course .. I was wrong.
My top left bracket popped off and the wire that goes into the bracket in the back popped out, and the spring for my rubber bands on that side popped right out as well.
Well, I managed to slide the wire back into the braket and reposition the bracket in front - but it's still wobbly.
So, I can't wear a rubber band on the left side right now - but I can on the right.

(Oh, and if this makes a difference the orthodontist just told me the other day that my left side [where i CANT wear a rubber band] is right where it should be, we're just waiting for the right side [where i CAN wear a rubber band] to catch up)

Soo, my question is. Until my appointment next Tuesday, is it possible to only wear a rubber band on my right side? Or should I just wear no rubber bands at all?

Thank you!

Do not mess with it. If you do you might mess it up more. So just wait till your next appointment and they'll fix it.

First of all, I had braces for a year in a half and I understand. There were times when I figured a little bit of something chewy or hard wouldn't hurt. Thankfully nothing came off but I understand. Anyway have you talked to your orthodontist? Why don't you call him and tell him what happened and ask him whether or not to wear any and do what he says. Since you have an appointment soon, it'll all be taken care of anyway. Good luck!

You should wear a rubber band on your right side if your ortho. said it had to catch up. I had to wear those stupid rubber bands when I had braces. I had to wear two, one on each side of my mouth in little triangles to pull my "eye" teeth down into propper allignment. They were the worst. Good Luck.

If you feel like your jaw is being pulled to that side too much and its affecting the way you eat or talk then I would not wear the rubber band.

don't wear any, you might pull your bite off to one side. at least if you don't wear any you won't get any worse. don't self medicate.
