It has stopped bleeding and now it just hurts. The jaw hurts where it was pulled out. Do I need to do something else?

If you can, take 800mg of ibuprofen every 6 hours until the pain gets better. You should have iced it yesterday but don't ice it today. Most people are sore for several days after an extraction .If you get through the next 2 or 3 days without it getting worse you should be ok. Rinse with warm salt water 3 or 4 times a day. If it gets worse and is constantly giving you a burning type of pain then you may have a dry socket and need to return to your dentist.

Good Luck.

Hold an ice pack against your cheek or eat an ice cream. I had one removed on Saturday. You don't have to go back today. And you have to swish salt water in your mouth. Just hold it in your mouth and spit it out. Don't gargle. It will swell a little, so the ice pack. Soft foods. Vit C tablets for mouth ulcers

IF THIS FEELING OF PAIN IS NOT ALLEVIATED WITH PAIN MEDICATION AND IS A STRONG DULL ACHE, YOU MAY HAVE A "DRY SOCKET" FORMING.
THIS USUALLY FORMS IN THE FIRST 24-36 HOURS POST EXTRACTION AND MUST BE TREATED BY THE DENTIST.
OTHERWISE, THE FEELING WILL IMPROVE WITH EACH DAY. WITH DRY SOCKET IT WON'T.
