Everything that everyone said above me. Bacteria and Viruses are very different. They respond to a different classes of medications entirely. Bacteria can be stopped from multiplying and can be killed. A virus can be stopped from multiplying but not killed by medications.
Do you have anything specific in mind when you ask the question?

Antibiotics do not work with viral infections, but only with bacterial infections. Antivirals are used to treat viral infections.

Antibiotics work only for bacterial infections.For viral infections,antiviral will do.

Antibiotics kill bacteria. Viruses are not effected ny antibiotics.

because antibiotics are for bacteria. on the other hand, antiviral are used for viruses :D
