To the JW, it is an act of faith. to them the blood is(for lack of a better word) sacred. They are taught that if a transfusion is done that they will live the rest of their lives in darkness from Jehovah( their name for God), and go to hell for eternity.

I find your question hypocritical. If you are so interested in saving lives, why aren't you asking people of other religions why they go to war and die? Did not Jesus say at Matt. 5:44: "Continue to love your enemies and to pray for those persecuting you"?

Far fewer JW's have died by obeying the Bible's view of blood than soldiers of many other religions who refused to comply with Jesus message of love and were slaughtered on the battlefields.

Face it, okay? You don't really care about our position on the Biblical view of blood. All you are after is a good pat on the back from fellow JW bashers like PediC, Unsliced Ham, and Nina. You choose to ignore the fact that JW's have a sacred view of life and blood. We don't jeopardize our lives by going to war and killing others or dying ourselves while allowing the govenment to deceive us into thinking we are dying for our country. JW's do not participate in warfare for ANY reason. Can all of those in YOUR religion say that? Ask them if dying in war is an act of faith or an act of suicide.

Oh my, I am so sorry to hear that. On another question last night we did a prayer but I guess it was to late. You know, when you actually really search deep in your heart; I will believe with all my heart that God Almighty does not look at it as suicide. How can a loving God see it that way when the boy is doing that for his faith and love for the God he believes will resurrect him after Armageddon. That kind of faith the boy showed that he was still a child is like the faith of Abraham, Isaac, Noah, Moses, and ALL the faithfuls of God Almighty. And yet all these faithfuls I mentioned were grown men. A faith of believing for the future though not seen is a faith that JHVH God will reward in full. I pray now for God to give glory to this boy. Through Christ Jesus His son, Amen & Amen.

Jehovah's Witnesses do not consume, donate or transfuse blood, because God Himself consistently made it clear for humans to "abstain from blood". God began with commanding Noah and his family to abstain from blood. (Gen. 9:4) He repeated this through the Mosaic law (Lev. 7:26, 27; 17:10, 11, 13, 14) and He continued to remind us through the pages of the New Testament. (Acts 15:28, 29; Acts 15:19, 20) This is because God has obviously attached a highly important moral principle to blood. (Lev. 17:11)

Because this command went as far back as Noah, Andrew Fuller, viewed by some as "perhaps the most eminent and influential of Baptist theologians," wrote:

"This, being forbidden to Noah, appears also to have been forbidden to all mankind; nor ought this prohibition to be treated as belonging to the ceremonies of the Jewish dispensation. It was not only enjoined before that dispensation existed, but was enforced upon the Gentile Christians by the decrees of the apostles, Acts XV. 20. . . . Blood is the life, and God seems to claim it as sacred to himself." - The Complete Works of the Rev. Andrew Fuller (1836), p. 751.

How Important is it to "Abstain From Blood"?

A close examination of the wording used at Acts 15:28, 29 shows how important it is for Christians to "abstain from blood":

"For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us to lay upon you no greater burden than these ESSENTIALS ['these necessary things' - RSV]: that you abstain from things sacrificed to idols and from blood and from things strangled and from fornication; if you keep yourselves free from such things, you will do well. Farewell." - Acts 15:28, 29 (NASB)

The wording of the Scriptures here does not indicate that this is a relatively unimportant commandment. It says it is "ESSENTIAL".

"Don't Jehovah's Witnesses Want to Live?"

The fact that Jehovah's Witnesses want to live is evidenced by their closely following the advances made in the field of bloodless medicine and surgery. There are endless examples and much documentation of their utilization of this.

Some critics of Jehovah's Witnesses have made false accusations concerning Jehovah's Witnesses' motivations in abstaining from blood. But would Jehovah's Witnesses REALLY be so eager to find quality, medical alternatives to blood transfusions for themselves and their children whom they deeply love if their refusal of blood was tantamount to a form of suicide or a "right to die" as some opposers falsely claim?

Christians who truly follow God's command to "abstain from blood" do not decline all therapies. They reject just one therapy, which even many experts admit come with dangers.

A person joins the military, goes to war and dies,

Act of Faith or act of suicide?

A mother runs and pushes her child out of the way of a car, and is strucked and killed.

Act of Love or an act of suicide?

What and who are you willing to die for?

If you are willing to die for man, you are called a hero.

If you are willing to die for God, you are called a fanatic.

Who has the power to resurrect you?

The man you died for? or the God you died for?

Love of God means obedience,
Jesus said those faithful in little things will be faithful in everything.

Satan said "if you threaten man with death, man will stop serving God"

Who is true in your case, Jesus: Are you faithful unto death?

or Satan: You will compromise your faith and live?

Acts 15 says to abstain from blood.

Your choice.

As for me and my household, We shall serve Jehovah.
