To answer your question, like the others have said, airplanes were invented long before the Vietnam War. Something that I would like to add is that the Wright Brothers were not first to fly. A guy by the name of Gustave Whitehead took has first flight in 1897. The are several reasons why Gustave is not credited with taking the first flight, the main reasons being nobody witnessed his first flight and nobody recorded the exact date. Also on his first flight he crashed into a building so many people argue that that was not controlled flight. I guess nobody really knows for sure because no one knows the exact date but Gustave most likely flew several years before the Wright Brothers.

airplanes were invented WAY before the Vietnam War. Airplanes were invented and used in the First World War. They were used as bomber planes or scouting planes.

I am stunned by your lack of knowledge....
I don't mean to be insulting but a quick check, on-line, would have shown you the use of airplanes in both World Wars (I & II) and the Korean War.
Have you ever heard of Hiroshima or Nagasaki? The atomic bombs, that desvistated these cities, were dropped from B-29 bombers...Airplanes built years before the Vietnam war.

1903 was way before the Vietnam War. WAY before...
And just as an aside...someone put wikipedia up there as a source. Open source sites are generally horrible sources of information and will not be considered reliable enough to base any sort of research on.

to answer your question the aircraft were invented well BEFORE the Vietnam war.
sincerelly I would like to know whether you are such a "tabula rasa" regarding the Vietnam war or relating the aviation.
in both cases it's terribly sad. good luck with further studies and improving of your trivia knowledge.

The Vietnamese have been fighting foreign invaders for centuries. So, depending on which war you pick, the aeroplanes were invented well after, or well before - depending on which war you want to choose as the "Vietnam War". If you are referring to the American War, duhhh.

Please be reminded that Yahoo!Answers is limited to persons age 13 and older. If you have reached the eighth grade and Really, Really don't know that the first powered flight occurred more than 60 years before the first hostilities of the Viet Nam conflict, then you are totally eaten up with the inability to pay attention, and you are right in saying that you need a little reassurance.
Good luck in making something of life.
