This time I am basing my vote on Universal Healthcare. If universal healthcare is good enough for every other "Western" country out there, it should be good enough for us in the U.S.

Wow! Sounds like you've bought into a lot of Pro-abortion propoganda...before abortion was legalized in 1973 90% of abortions were not done in "back alleys" but in medical offices by physicians. A recent survey of women showed that 72% of them would choose not to have an abortion if it was illegal. Many people murder, steal, and rape even though it is illegal should we change those laws just because people will do it anyway?
That is not my main reason for choosing a candidate but it is definately important to me that whoever is in office holds up some of my beliefs and I think a candidate who is pro-life definately shows me that they are compassionate and has a moral back bone.

I got so upset a few yrs back. I've not voted since!!!!!!! I'm a very conservsative republican. There are moral issues I can't waver on, my conscience won't allow it. Making abortion and drugs legal won't save more lives! Plus, I HAVE to do what God says rather than man. There are a couple of Democrats I would vote for this yr if: 1. I was going to vote @ all. 2. If they weren't pro-abortion /etc.

Whether a candidate is for or against abortion is irrelevant; it only applies if they pledge to do something about it, one way or another, and actually follow through on that pledge. For some reason people tend to forget that.

I don't only vote Republican because of life issues, but I won't vote for anyone, Republican, Democrat, or otherwise, who will not speak out AGAINST abortion. I take those that will and look at the other important issues from there.

I base my vote on deciding who I think is LEAST likely to screw up the country even more than it already is. I have my favorites.
But yeah... To some people, all that matters is that women can't have legal abortions and that gay people can't get married.

I agree with Ana - I am a moderate swing voter, and I vote depending upon which issue is most relevant to me at the time - and right now, universal health care is the most important issue to me so I will be voting for Hillary Clinton.

I look at the issues and try to pick the candidate that will do the best for America as a whole. I am an Independent and have no party ties.

If someone cannot defend the life of an innocent baby in the womb, then he or she does not qualify to make any other moral decisions.
