i'm baking cookies but i need 2 more tablespoons of butter.. can i replace it with oil?

and its a cookie mix it requires a stick of buuter and 1 egg.

oil makes the cookies greasy so I would substitute margarine (sticks not soft) or shortening.

I sometimes use half butter half shortening when making large amounts of cookies and that usually works out well for me.

You'd be better off just putting it as much butter as you have. If you don't have that last 2 tablespoons, don't even bother substituting. I can't tell you how many times I've had too little butter and my chocolate chip cookies still turned out tremendously well.

Probably. A lot depends on the recipe. If the butter was only being used as a source of fat, oil or shortening would work as well.
Butter has a distinctive taste, and substituting oil or shortening will change the taste.

Try the oil, but just put in 1 tablespoon.

No the cookies wont mix with too mutch oil in it

Subsitute shortning if you have it, if not add an extra egg yolk.
