Please find a dentist that will help you make payments! Go to www.carecredit.com
This company works with dentist to ensure payment. The dentist will get paid and you can make monthly payments.
I'm not sure if they will list dentists in your area on the site. If they don't, call offices in your area and ask if they work with care credit or if you can set up a payment plan with their office.
It is very important that you see a dentist ASAP! A tooth that is keeping you up at night is not a joking matter, or something to put off!
Why would it cost you $2000? Is that for a root canal and a crown? You do have another option. if money is that big of an issue. Have it pulled! At this point your health is more important than asthetics.
A dentist can only give you advice on what needs to be done(law reasons) They have to protect themselves from malpractice suits They tell you what "should be done" to save the tooth. They can't just tell you it needs to be pulled if there is a chance to save it.
If you ask them to pull it....they will! (They can document that the extraction was your decision and against their advice.)
Try the Care Credit first. Saving your teeth is best!
Is your face swollen? If so, DO NOT put cold on the swollen area! Use WARM compresses. There is a bacterial infection that requires immediate attention!
If you are not swollen, there is a possibility that you have a fistula that is draining the infection. You are lucky! A fistula is a thin tube that forms to drain the bacteria from the site of the infection. Not everyone forms these drainage systems.
As for the pain.....Advil is good. You can take more than is reccomended on the bottle. A prescription dose is OK. Depending on your age, and size take about 300-400mg(even 500mg,if needed). at a time if you are an adult. Advil is a great anti-inflamitory. Tylenol is a great pain killer. If you opt to take 2 advil and 2 tylenol that is OK too. Don't take more than 2 and 2.
Don't forget to rinse with a solution of water and salt. This will help decrease bacteria.
Since you already have a price I am guessing you have a primary dentist. Ask him/her for some pain meds. They should be able to call them into your pharmacy.
They may only do that if they have documentation of your situation already. If they don't they may require a visit.

If the pain is that bad and you don't have the money to get it fixed, you may need to just get it extracted. That will take the pain away. Or you could ask the office if they offer any sort of payment plans or care credit, which is like a credit card you use just at the dentist.

YOUR DENTIST CAN JUST REMOVE THE NERVE CALLED A PULPAL EXTIRPATION AND GET YOU OUT OF PAIN AND FINISH THE ROOT CANAL LATER.
3-4 ADVIL EVERY 4-6 HOURS WILL HELP CONSIDERABLY.

You need to go to the dentist and have it taken care of.
If it is an abcess it can go into the other teeth and get a lot worse.
It should not cost that much, more like $500.
Go to a different dentist.

If it's that painful you most likely have an abcessed tooth and need antibiotics. Most dentists won't pull a tooth that is abcessed. First you have to take the antibiotics. If it's that bad go to the ER and they will get you some antibiotics and pain pills.

for the loss of a nail, the shoe was lost ............. at last he lost his life. That's how the story goes. when you had a small cavity you neglected it, now it has bar rowed into the nerve causing the pain. The filling would have coasted you just $100/.
Get the RCT & crown done or you will land up paying more.

Call your dentist and ask if you can set up a payment plan. Or him drop his prices one. That price sound awful ridiculous. Try a heating pad or a stronger pain killer.

Yeah, go to a different dentist. Worst case, you can get it pulled for $100.
