get a heavier tree stand.. or add a weight.. like from a bench press to the tree stand.. my friend had to add a 20 lb disc weight to the stand on hers i dont even bother putting up a tree.. my cats would be up it.. chew on the lights and try to eat the decorations

We put a hook in the wall and tied the tree down. I also put non breakable ornaments on the bottom of the tree so Kitty has some toys to play with ;).

Put some water in a spray bottle and spritz kitty when he/she goes near the tree. Kitty will learn very quick. Cats hate to be spritzed. Don't worry, you won't harm your cat.

Sprayed the bottom branches with BITTER APPLE and my cat hasn't been near the tree since.
