Hi. Please help.

I use a 1200watts heater for 16hours per day. On average, how much($) would you be charged for this per month (in your state)?

If possible, indicate the cost of 1kwh of electricity and how u derived your answer.

Thanx in advance.

1.2 times 16 equals 19.2 KWH, at 15 cents per KHW it costs you $2.88 per day for the heat. That's $86.40 per month.

To answer this question, it is assumed that you will use the heater 30 days per month. Since you did not indicate your electricity in your locality,it might besafe to assume that the electricity rate is $0.50 per kw-hr.
First determine the expected kw-hrs consumed per month:
KW-HRs/month =1200/1000(16)(30)
=576
Amount payable per month= 576(rate in electricity)=576(0,5)=$288.00
The final amount may change depending on your electricity rate

You are using 19.2 Kw a day, X 30, 576 Kw a month.
Now go look at your electric bill to see how much they charge you per Kw.

Check your electric bill, it shows your cost for a kWh.

The heater uses 1.2kW.

So, 1.2kWh for each hour it is on. You can handle the math I'm sure.
