uhm i'm confused on what these proverbs mean?
ne help or ideas?
1. The sun will shine on those who stand before it shines on those who kneel under them
2.if a child washed his hand, he could eat with kings.
3.he who brings kola, brings life.
4. proverbs are the palmoil with which words are eaten.

Here is the first proverb as I found it in the Central New Jersey Alumni Newsletter of the National Society of Black Engineers, October/November, 2004.
“The sun will shine on those who stand before it and will shine on those who kneel under them.”
Meaning: Good things will come to thoughtful leaders and their obedient followers.
"If a child washed his hands, he could eat with kings."
Meaning: As best I could glean from reading several websites, it means that as soon as you take action to clean up your reputation, you can take your rightful place in society.
"He who brings kola, brings life."
Meaning: Kola is an esteemed fruit. It is served to guests as a matter of hospitality in cermony and an friendship.
"Proverbs are the palm oil with which words are eaten."
Meaning: The art of conversation is greatly admired, particularly rhetoric.
