Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence - that's all I would say.

no one has the right to demand respect. It is something earned not arbitrarily given due to faith in anything. Besides, faith is a delicate and complex subject. I don't idly give out my respect just because you have a faith in something. I trust my magic 8 ball. Its my only faith. Can you respect that? Its not just the faith, but what you do in accordance with it that yields the respect of someone. So basically, no.
i'm not saying faith in astrology is undeserving of ones respect, or stupid (because i'm pretty in to it myself) i keep it at the same level of all other faiths-- all as faiths.

I have a problem respecting ANY faith in ANY unproven, unprovable, pseudo-scientific or supernatural power. I do however think that like everyone else, astrologists have the 'right' to demand anything they want. Just as we have the 'right' to deny any demand we find unacceptable.

You're kidding, right? As if anybody's destiny is written down anywhere. Pretty much negates the whole free will thing, doesn't it? Do they have a right to demand respect? As part of the human race - yes. As serious scientists - Uh, let me think - nope.

I think astrology deserves the same respect as any religion, i.e. None at all.
The only difference between astrologers and christians is that astrologers know their beliefs are false

Everyone has the right of respect. You may not agree with them, understand them, or like them. But they have a right as much as anyone to freedom of religion, Faith or creed.

Forced respect is no respect. You can legislate me into keeping a straight face when you walk in the room, but my thoughts of you are my own. Respect must be earned.

I respect astrologers as persons qua persons. I respect the inviolability of their consciences. I do not, however, respect positions I hold to be false.

Only those who are completely ignorant of physics have respect for astrology. It deserves only ridicule.

I love astrology and think it definitely deserves respect. I am a Libran, and reading about the characteristics of Libra, I have to say it matches me perfectly.

I do not believe in astrology, and the claims of proponents of astrology are **easily** disproven.
It is no skin off my nose if another adult believes in astrology unless they use that belief to harm others.
