Life is given value by valueing life. If a victim's life is of less value to the murderer than his financial well being, his anger, his jealousy, or his sexual gratification, then his/her life is of no value. Sadness sadness sadness. Tragic but true. Love your children so they'll learn to love too.

Due process of law, guilt beyond a shadow of a doubt are the other criteria for executions to be justice.

The term "murder" refers to the taking of a life in an unlawful manner. So, wherever the death penalty is law, it is not murder. Same with abortion. It's technically not murder.

Actually it is "Mercy".

Why did the Lord give the death penalty?
Genesis 9:6 Whoso sheddeth man’s blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.

He gave it because it is a benefit to someone.....

*Who does the death penalty really benefit?
(Once you figure that out...then you have a chance of understanding why the Lord gave the commandment.)

In theory, it is justice. The problem is, is that too many people make mistakes in the legal process thus condemning innocent people to death.

1 Tim. 1:8 But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully; 9 Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, 10 For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;

Justice and in my opinion we should reconsider the 8th amendment and allow for cruel and unusual punishment for those who deserve to be put to death.

God's law demands capital punishment for murder (criminal homicide) ... also, for rape.

Matthew Chapter 5:17-18
17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

Luke Chapter 16:17 And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail.
