usually cupping is caused by wear from bad shocks
other things can help contribute such as ball joints worn out
but 95% of the time its your shocks

You did not state 4x4 or how many miles. Many times just placing front tires/wheels on the rear axle every 4 to 7 thousand miles really evens out the wear. I agree with the other answers loose front end parts shocks worn and the wrong ride height all can factor in in tire cuppung as well as poor quality tires.

if when you say "cupping" you mean the outsides of your tires are wearing off much faster then the rest of the tire. that this is a possibility.

If both sides of both front tires are wearing quickly, then odds are you are turning too fast and your tires are "rolling" over on themselves. To cure this performance drivers use taller rims, and tires with a lower sidewall. but you will just need to corner slower.

alignment, problems usually make one tire wear worse than the other, or one side of a tire wear more than the other side.

underinflation is possible. if you have less than 100k miles, then your shocks should be fine. you prob need to have them rotated. i found out the hard way too....the rotatations should occur every 7-10k miles (ask tire place) and they put the fronts on the back to help everything wear evenly. i didnt think it would matter and ended up ruining some good tires that cost about 700 on an f150 : (

it could be
pressure
shocks
ball joints
suspension parts
alignment
rotate your tires every 5000
or a combo
once a tire cups it will continue even if you rotate it to the rear

If it they are cupping on both sides of the tire they are under inflated, just under one side or the other you need an alignment.
