Ever since a few days ago, after my puppy eats, he carries his bowl into the other room and chews on it (he's still in that chewing stage). Well, tonight he picked up his bowl of water and dumped it out on the floor while I was on the phone. I had to get off and clean it up. I told him "No!" and then I fixed him another bowl of water. Not a couple minutes later, he had that dumped on the floor again and was carrying his bowl in his mouth. I gave him his food bowl after the first time he did that, because I don't keep him food where he can get it all day (because he will eat it all).

anyways, my question is: Has your puppy ever did this? He just did this today? and my dad told me to keep the water up from him until he goes over there looking for it. But I don't know.. Could he just be attracted to the bowls? Do you have any suggestions?

He's a yellow labrador. and he's getting to be well behaved other than this incident.

Thanks in advance.

he does have plenty of toys. i do take the time to play with him. if i didn't have time for a dog, i wouldn't have gotten him. he just spent all day (practially) playing with me and my grandmother.

he has enough attention, and he's usually well behaved. this just started today.

Well I think he has learned a new thing to do and he is amusing himself.
I would get a weighted water and food bowl for him so it will be more difficult for him to pick up and carry around.

Try keeping a chew toy or rawhide next to his bowls so he has a choice when he wants to chew on something right that minute. If it persists past puppy chewing phase you might want to consider getting the bowls that sit inside a stand so he can't pick them up.

Get one of those no tip bowls.
Or put the water bowl in a room with a tile floor and put a mat under the bowl that will collect the water.

You might get him some rawhide or pig ears to chew. Seems like it has a fixation with the plastic that the bowls are made from.

LOL first off. BTW he's SO cute. Is that him in your pic? He's ADORABLE! Get a very heavy bowl that he cannot pic up or knock over. My dog has never done that but he's so messy when he drinks that you almost slip on the kitchen floor. Lol hope this helps.

I'm thinking he is bored and wants to play. Does he have puppy toys to play with? Do you take the time to play with him? I would try and play with him for awhile, but you are doing the right thing by letting him know it's not right to dump his water out either.
