It seems like the only trucks that get at least 25+ miles per gallon are the 1995-98 2.3L Ford Rangers and 2.2L Chevy S10's. So does the Nissan Frontier King Cab XE 2WD (2.4L 4cyl) get anything near this?

I have a 2003 Frontier 2WD 2.4L (the same body style as the '01) with a manual transmission. I generally get 24-25 MPG overall. If you are looking to buy a truck I would highly reccommend the Frontier, I have had a Chevy S10 and a Ranger and the Nissan wins for me. Mine has 53000 miles with no problems whatsoever. We run Frontiers as fleet vehicles and we have a 2001 with 208,000 miles and nothing has gone wrong. Good luck.

Aerodynamic trucks are not. Faster you go the less MPG. The Nissan is more powerfull than the Ford and Chevy. So no milage gained there. You did not state manual trans or automatic. So what do you want Less taste or less filling?

Low to mid 20s. The worst I ever got was about 18 (stop and go in winter) and the best was 27 on a trip.

My 1998 Frontier has the same engine as that one you mentioned and mine gets around 24 mpg. I love my frontier.
