Some Co-workers claimed they don't like Dove Or Quail that its nasty tasting.
I have been thinking of a way to fix it that they wouldn't know what it is, for a month or 2, and I am a really good cook.
I cleaned and removed all tendons, and fat. Chopped it up in 1/4 inch cubes and boiled it in chicken herb boulion solution till it was super tender. Then I made a rice mix of wild grain and pilaf, also cooked with chicken broth (had it before it's really good), then added the dove and quail to it!
tasted and it's terrific and hope to surprise everyone at work tomorrow as we are having a pot luck for a co-worker who is leaving.
Would you be mad if I did this to you?

Meal is over, they(the one who said it was nasty) did guess what it was but ate it anyway and liked it, everyone liked it.

That's probably the coolest thing I've ever heard of! What a great way to educate your coworkers and maybe even get a few of them interested in the sport of hunting too. I'd be curious to know how your coworkers like their meal! I'd wager that they won't know what kind of meat it is and rave about how good it is. Then they'll eat a little "crow" when you tell them what it is.

Heck, I would pig out. I love Quail. I know some stores that sell it and it not cheap either. I have hunted for many years and I never shot a Dove or even ate one. Now, with that said; "Where you work"? LOL!
I not sure about your co-workers. People can be funny. If, someone ask what it is, just smile real big and say; "The secret is in the sauce"! If they ever watched the movie "Fried Green Tomatoes" they should try at their own risk without penalty to you.

Great idea, we did it to a co-worker who insisted that elk was too nasty to eat. So, we just cooked up a big elk roast with potatoes, onions and carrots and invited her to join in. She was just wolfing it down talking about how good it was when we told her she was eating elk. She blew chunks before she could excuse herself from the table. Kinda ruined lunch, and she never really forgave us; but if I had it to do over again I'd do the same thing.

Let everyone know what it is before they eat it. Some people may be extremely offended if they find out after they eat it. The ones that try it will be pleasantly surprised I am sure. Some people will never be able to consume wild game, no matter how good it is.

I was introduced to racoon in a similar way at a bbq in Tx. I couldn't believe how good it was. The meat was piled on a plate and I helped myself. I was kind of pissed at first, but got over it real quick when I went back for seconds!

I did something similar about 10 years ago. We were having Thanksgiving dinner at my mom's, I asked her if I could bring a roast. She told me that it was alright with her.
I fixed a roast that was out of this world!! Carrots, onions, potatos,.....etc.
At dinner EVERYBODY was saying how good the roast was. My sis-in-law was going back for seconds. I looked at her and started snickering, I couldn't help it! She got a funny look on her face and asked me " What kind of meat is this?" I told her it was a roast! She threatened me with bodily harm if I didn't come clean right away.
So, I told her she was eating bear roast. She just about lost her dinner right there.
Go ahead and serve the birds, I just wouldn't tell them for a couple of days after.
I think it's funny that everything's alright until you find out that you're eating something that you wouldn't try if you knew what it was beforehand, then when you find out your mind automatically tells you " Spit it out, it tastes like sh*t!"

I've done it to people before but DON'T tell them for a few days, secret recipe - that kind of thing. My friends wife got "sick" after devouring a meal of wild game one night but till she new what it was she was fine.

I might be, but only slightly. If it was really good I couldn't stay mad for more than a few seconds. If they did all turn out to hate it, then you might be in for a rough time at work.

Nope, but then I enjoy dove and quail! As long as they aren't vegetarians and you you don't tell them there is not meat in there it should be fine.

Nope, as long as the food tasted good, I would appreciate it, someone cooking food for me..... only an ungrateful person would be mad at you.
