I don't have one in .243 Win, but my .358 Win BLR is the most accurate rifle I've ever owned.
It has a straight grip and I find it quite comfortable to shoot. I do not miss the pistol-grip at all on this rifle.

i have the BLR in stainless and laminate in 300wsm caliber and love it shoulders smooth and shoots straight, pleasent to carry, browning makes some great rifles, and the blr is one of best lever actions ive shot, i love lever actions and the blr offers the calibers not available in other lever action designs, (being clip fed) the 243 is a fine deer round, get youll love it happy hunting. the pistol grip offers a little more comfort but the 243 doesnt have alot of recoil so eithier you cant wrong hold them both shoulder them both and pick the most comfortable style for you. i like my 300wsm so much i getting a 30.06 blr or 7mm mag blr probaly a takedown version just because

I've never been able to get accustomed to the straight-grip on any rifle, and find that the pistol-grip positions my hand more naturally for working the lever, hence too my preference for the Marlin 336 over the Winchester 94. Regardless, the BLR is quite accurate, and while no target rifle, it can hold its own in the field out to 300 yards or so, especially in .308, my preferred all-purpose calibre.
A BLR in .338mag is on my Xmas list!

I don't have a Browning but my Rem 243 is a great light rifle. I reload and for pl inking , ground squirrels and other varmint's. can reload 55 grain; for bigger game 75grain loads, work great. the B has a good reputation but several hundred $$ more. Have not one minis mark against the Rem.
with shells tailored for my gun, I can usually hit the bulls-eye 6 outta 6, out to 100-150 yds; but capable for more distance; The gun can do it , if I can.. I will shoot 2-300 shots a season target and sport shooting , reloading help keep costs down, save all spent shells brass as they are pricier every time I need to resupply. if you don't reload good trading stock,

Browning makes some nice guns. The .243 has moderate recoil and does a great job of killing, without overkillling hog and deer. With a good heart lung shot you shouldn't have to wait longer than the standard 10-15 secs at most, and it will penetrate through hog neck and bust through spine at 100 yards easy. I have been extremely happy with my .243 and have always been happy with the meat left over compared to the guys shooting 30-06, 300 win mag, 270 who blow through both shoulders... (not that you need to shoot them in the shoulder!)

Browning makes a great rifle. The only down side is that they tend to be a bit pricey.
Best.

browning is the best fire-arm maker there is besides remmington and i think those 2 tie.. I love browning I would highly recommend you get it. .243's are a good caliber too. they go far and are good for game up to deer.
