I was off the clock at my former job, I was speaking to fellow Christians about Bibical things: (all sin is selfish and thus when we sin we are leading a selfish lifestlye, and I was trying to explain this in an understanding way). A lady sat next to us on the otherside of a divider, so she saw and heard us talking. She had her children infront of her, and mid-way through my sentence I hear "EXCUSE ME! Can you please shut up, so I can eat in peace?" What made her not have peace, and why did she sit next to us, when she could have easily move. Needless to say I said, "I'm sorry" then I addressed my friends "Hey guys want to move over there?" We ended the conversation, but my question is, why are things in life like this, why is everything so hateful? Why can't I talk about what I believe without strangers listening? And why can't you eat in peace only if a Christian were talking? If a Muslim were next to me I actually would be interested in what they had to say, not offended!?

Questions to address:

1.) Why is the world so hateful to each other?

2.) Why was she so upset and rude?

3.) Why can't I talk about what I believe, yet others seem to be accepted?

For those confused, I was hired at the place at that point and time, I had recently clocked out and sat down to talk with co-workers who are my friends about God, because we were earlier. I had every right to speak there, off the clock as a civilian about my beliefs, she sat down next to us, she should have moved if it was offending her that much I think personally....

She was convicted in her sin, just by hearing what you were saying. She couldn't deal with that and chose to be loud and rude to cover her own mortification. You did exactly what God would want you to do, dear one! If she wanted to "eat in peace," she should have gone to the lunch room or her car. Blessings at ya!!

An important thing to remember about religious conversation is that it's inherently powerful language, as religion is tied in with politics, family matters, and a host of other issues to which everyone reacts differently.

In particular, talking generally about "sin" is bound to offend some people, as many people have been politically or otherwise attacked and labeled as "sinners" (e.g. non-Christians, homosexuals, et cetera) and may be sensitive to passive-aggressive discussion of the topic.

For reference, imagine you were sitting in a diner in the 1960s and a black family sat down next to you, and you opened a conversation about the importance of following the law, even if you don't agree with it-while it's a perfectly acceptable and proper lesson for your kids, it has political implications that could legitimately offend people if discussed in certain public situations.

That said, her reaction was clearly excessive and rude - in general, we don't interrupt the conversations of others in public dining places, even if we don't like what they're talking about.

To hear the Word of God is to be held accountable to it and possibly be converted.

Most will refuse the will of God for the love of sin.

So when you speak of God, those who belong to satan will be offended since hearing the Word of God brings guilt and possible conversion. The devil does not want those that are his to hear the Word of God because it could open up their eyes and heart and see him for what he truly is, a liar and deceiver.

The devil attacks men through their flesh. He deceives them into believing sin is pleasure. Yet, he is lying to man in an attempt to have the man die in his sins. For if a man dies in sin, his soul belongs to satan.

Just don't get frustrated when someone attacks your faith. This is a sure way of knowing you are doing that which is faithful and true. Don't be intimidated, but instead return hate with love. Love conquers all. The love of Christ that is.

For greater is he who is in me, then he who is in the world.

1) Nobody has patience for anyone else anymore. Got to care about someone other than yourself.
2) Because she didn't want to hear what you had to say...She has this right to eat in peace.
3) really No you don't have the right to express your belief's in public. Because she has the right not to feel harassed by what YOU believe in... She can go to the management there and get her side heard. She has the right to raise her children how she see fit also,. Whether you think it is right too.

Anyway if you were "OFF THE CLOCK" and at your FORMER job, then tell me what were you doing there talking about religion anyway?

The world hates Christians for one. Second you were probably talking about something that made her feel guilty. Your going to have to ignore it when people are hateful to you and go on worshiping Jesus.

people are evil,
the devil will do all he can to interrupt Christians passing on information to others.
Next time, don't let someone like that interfere. YOu were there first, so you go ahead and finish your conversation. God is more important than someone getting to "eat in peace"

Did you ever consider for once that you were probably loud, and were disrupting others? its like in a movie when people are chatting, don't you justwant to tell them to shut up. We go to a restaurant to eat, not to pray, or be prayed at.
