They are like this because they love you and wants what is best for you. They are constantly worried that something bad might happen to you and so they expect you to call to let them know you are OK. Look around you, there is so many things for them to be terrified about concerning you...drugs, guns, murders, rapists, among others.
Sometimes they get overprotective and gets on your nerves but understand that all of this is just because they love you. I don't think they really understand what this is doing to you but trust me, they mean you well.
If i had parents like yours to push me and be concerned about me then i know my life would have been a little better. So be grateful OK.
Hang in there and enjoy the ride while you are on the bus. Very soon you will reach the stop and you will have to get off, then you will know what this craziness was all about.
hang in there OK

Ummm...with the paragraph you wrote I can promise you, you are NOT a so-called "A+ STUDENT". I am one a I make sure to go back and check what I read before putting it out there....now that we have covered that let's answer your question. Parents are like that because they only want the best for you, they don't want anything to happen to you, they love you, and most importantly it's because they don't want you to make the same mistakes that they did/have. They are only trying to protect you because your there baby and don't want anything to happen to you.

When people say they love you, care for you, and that sort, some DON'T. Its quite clear to distinguish between whether they are overprotective of you or just being a total ******* pain in the head. Some people have to realise that yes, you might be their child, but that doesn't mean they care for you, for instance, mine. I wouldn't think being commanded to pour them drinks and make their dinner every single day is something of which they love you.

At least your parents are telling you to do the right thing for your future. If they are pushing you too hard, just talk to them. If your parents are really that stubborn and refuse to listen try and get someone else to talk to them. Always try to give your parents the benefit of the doubt.

Hey! take it easy. What helps us in most cases is never valued immediately. Most children have excesses which can harm them. It is the duty of RESPONSIBLE parents to ensure no harm (including bad habits) come to their children.
Please note this: true love is not always pleasing.

Tell me this. would you be the way you are if it wasn't for your parents?
You do well because they harp at you.
They are just telling you what every other parent tells their kids - to make them do well.
Ever tried talking to your parents? Maybe then they'd know about you and your life?

I guess you're right...they gave birth to a...kid who couldn't spell his way out of a paper bag or write a decent sentence. Schools sure don't expect much from their students anymore, if they give good grades for what you're exhibiting.
