I was talking with a gentleman today that told me quite a horror story about an adopted girl that accused him of molestation. They took the three girls out of the home and basically cleaned him out financially. There is no way that this guy was a Pedofile.

I don't say that because I think I know, it is a cold hard fact and it was proven he was innocent.

Is Social Service praying on children as a means to tap into our money?

Do they have too much power?

What if you are next?

So how would you correct this? Should we ignore children when they say they've been molested?!!?

The story you tell is unfortunate. However, the fact is that innocent people get accused of crimes, and it can take quite a bit of money for them to prove their innocence. But I have yet to hear of a better system of justice.

Apparently social services just can't win. The more common complaint is that these agencies aren't investigating accusations enough. You're complaining that they _did_ investigate.

No one wants to be accused of something they didn't do, but it happens. It's how the system works.

I completely disagree. There are just people out there who are completely unfit to be parents, and for the most part, Social Services does a good job at weeding those people out. I don't know much about the situation with the gentleman, but Social Services does investigations to make sure that they aren't taking away children wrongfully. He must has done something to have had his children taken away.

I agree with your statement. Someone called childrens aid when my son was 3 because they thought my son was being neglected. Just because he wore the same outer clothes for 3 days in a row. It was the end of the month and we had no money for laundry. Childrens aid had to invade our apartment, speak to our family doctor, and we had to have a meeting with the daycare. Finally we were cleared, but I have had to be so careful ever since on what my sons wears. I never want to go through that again. It was horrible.

Firstly, it's spelt paedophile.
Anyway. In some extreme cases, authorities get things wrong, but on the whole it is better that every now and then one person has a hard time than you had no social services and paedophiles and child abusers of other sorts, junkies and criminals were left with kids they could not look after indefinately. And it isn;t a religious / spiritual question.

Yes I agree with you, they seem to take away children from people who have done nothing wrong, and then they leave other children in abusive homes. It is scaring to know how they judge a lie as the truth, and the truth as a lie.

All authority figures have way to much power, and the sad part is that 90% of those authority figures are wicked people who abuse the power they have.

Many of these children have come from horrific circumstances and are extremely mentally ill. We cannot turn our backs on them, however. I am so sorry for your friend's situation! Hopefully there can be some resolution for his reputation at minimum.
