Absolutely, I've been going through that--I think most do if they are old enough. The great thing is it's never too late to get back to your faith! I've been learning a lot about myself, sometimes more than I wanted to know.

The prodigal son ran off and lived his life the way he thought was fun and exciting, till he found himself feeding swine. Then he searched his heart and knew that peace and true life would only be found by returning to his Fathers' home and repenting of his sin.
You may have fallen away for awhile but God knows His children. His arms are open waiting for you to come home to Him.
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Just pray and ask God to forgive you then get up and do what is right in the eyes of God. He's there ready and willing to lead you in the way of righteousness for His name sake.
I'm praying for you and I know others are now too.

I did.
I had been in Ministry, including being Pastor of a small Church. In '89 I walked away from God, and for 5 years lived in sin, until I just got sick of myself. I came back to Church, but it was another few years before I returned to Ministry. I am now Associate Pastor of a Church of God.

God did not leave us we are the ones who leave him. I am just as guilty of this. But he will meet us where we left him. If you now realize that you are miserable because you walked away from your calling then walk back into your call and He will be there

Yes, but I didn't forget. I was in a church that didn't want to let me do what God wants me to do. I finaly just left there. But have been miserable for a yr. Because I want to be there! I can't find another church. Nor will my spouse even visit another church! I have no idea what to do. Therefore, I can not give you any advice, only empathy. I'll pray for you if you pray for me.

I understand what you feel. I mean this happened to me a few years back. I mean I know what God wanted me to do but I didnt want it so I tried to run. But, yes, you live a life of sadness not because your didnt listen to God but because you run away from happiness. I mean what God wanted us to do is what would make us really happy - we just dont know it yet most of the times.

I believe that every Christian is in rebellion over some issue with God, be it small or large - all a question of degree.
Nevertheless: ' ... we should always give thanks to God for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God has chosen you from the beginning for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and faith in the truth'.(2Thessalonians 2:13).

may haps the calling wasn't yours & you are unduly chastizing your self.
try this & see if it is as I say.
sit & clear your mind then ask God & do not just ask & walk away. Pay attention & wait for the answer.
it may be God did at the time want you to do it but realized there is some thing else for you to do & till you ask & wait till he answers you will not know!
