I am a high school Nordic Ski racing participant and am looking to buy skate-style skis. I am about 125 pounds and 5'6". Should I go with a medium or stiffer flex? What length would be good? (I am looking at length 182 or 186-187.) Any specific ski? Please Help!

I used to sell and service Backcountry and Touring skis. I have no experience with skate skis...but the answer is the same.

Go Demo some skis. If you are serious about racing then you should try different skis to see what works best for you.

Don't commit to buying an expensive racing package before you try it. Talk to your coach and some of the skiers. See if they have skis they will let you try and also hit the ski shop to see what they have.
