No one can tell you what this could be. It could be an allergy to your laundry detergent or it could be more serious. No one knows. A doctor needs to clinically examine you, and if warranted will do a biopsy to determine what is happening. But, from your description it sounds more like a dermatology issue than cancer. Either way, you need treatment if it is as sore as you say.
As far as being scared goes . . your fear is not going to go away so you might as well go to the doctor. That is what courage is all about. Being afraid, but still facing it. My son faces a stage IV cancer every single day. And, he basically just goes about living his life as normally as possible. We'll worry when there is something to worry about.

Kelley, I know that you are scared as I have been where you are and I too, have a family full of women who have had breast cancer!
You need to get a mammogram ASAP. Now, to me, the fact that your breasts are sore says that is more positive. Why? Because I was diagnosed with eight fibroid tissue cysts, in my left breast. I could not feel them but, my breast got so sore to the touch....yikes! Then, my right nipple did the same! I had three fibroid cysts in that breast! I did develop a ninth, in the left breast but, it was different and the oncologist excised it. It was not cancerous but, it had to be dealt with as it was a cyst that could turn bad.
So, you see, you need to go as it may only be fibroids and they DO get sore! I want you to go as soon as possible and I want you to know that I am praying for a very good outcome! Remember, you are not alone, I understand and I am praying for you!!
If you need to talk...just e-mail,
gail

You need to go to the doctor ASAP and dont waste another day. Tell the receptionist your symptoms and tell her you need to be seen ASAP.
You may just have a inflammed duct or some type of inflammatory breast problem, but waiting is not going to make it go away. Fear is the reason most women do not follow up with their doctors.

Honey, please don't wait. I survived breast cancer 10 years ago. I am here because I went to the doctor, it does not mean if you have cancer it is a death sentence. You may not even have anything. With your family history you should be proactive and get check ups regularly. Promise me and yourself you will go. Good Luck you will be just fine

If your are actually worried about having breast cancer, PLEASE go and see your doctor and have a test done before it gets any worse because if it actually was breast cancer, and it went untreated, the cancerous cells could spread, and it might become untreatable. Go see a doctor about this BEFORE it gets too late!

Go see a doctor right away. It is scary to hear if it is cancer, but you want to deal with this sooner than later.

We all face the unknown, but we need to make it known. When something is known then we can treat it. I recommend that you go to the doctor ASAP. Waiting won't cure anything, but treatment will. I will pray for you, for comfort and wisdom.
