i own 8 kittens, and one is indoors while the others are outside/inside cats. Two or three of them apparently keep jumping into the neighbors car. Tonight was the second time it happened. He told us that he doesnt mind them running around but the next time they jump into his car he wont 'just shoo them out'. What should i do to prevent them from jumping into his car? Please help me!

oh i also have to mention im not allowed to keep more than one cat (the indoor cat) inside the house. Im very allergic to them so my family refuses to let me keep them inside. If you're wondering why i even have cats its because i take medicine to cure my allergies.

Get a clean spray bottle, put a Tablespoon of Tabasco in it and fill it with water. Don't squirt the car, but spray a perimeter around it. Cats' sense of smell is sensitive and they will stay away.

All these answers were my own. If you must let them be indoor/outdoor (which can be better if you don't have the schedule or commitment to entertain 8 cats inside), try the pepper idea or the store-bought deterrent.

Also, what is leading them to the car? Is it warm, or closed off? Kittens don't always like to be out in the open; it's an instinct that keeps them from the mouths of predators. Try moving lawn furniture or your own vehicle close to his. Leave your windows down or drape something over the furniture. It may be just the refuge they are looking for.

And appeal to your neighbor to give you a little time. Cats are creatures of extreme habit. Anyone who has ever come home early or moved a food bowl can tell you that.

Don't you think that having 8 cats is a bit much especially since you cant keep them inside and you are allergic to them when around them in bulk. Maybe other homes are a good choice. It sounds like that you had a cat that had kittens and now you have too many. Cat that live outdoors are subject to disease and many other threats so other good, loving homes might be a better choice then trying to stay attached and keep all of them as you are now

This one is tough... first they are cats so they are naturally curious. And an open window into a car is an open invitation to them. It may not even be your kittens jumping in.
I would suggest trying to keep your kittens in at night. If you give them treats(canned food) at a certain time, they will show up every night. They will be safer inside at night and will help your relationship with your neighbor as well.
Good luck

The supremely obvious thing would be that he just roll his windows up. If he won't take that option, and is getting aggressive about their behavior, you either have to keep them indoors, keep them in an enclosed outdoor space, or find them new homes.

Last thing you need is someone killing the cats because you allow them to roam off your property. He's legally within his rights to take them to the shelter--they are not under your direct control and he can claim they're strays specially as they're on HIS property.

Well, my question is, why is he leaving his car OPEN over night?
Anyway, to encourage them not to get into the car you can give the man a water spray bottle and whenever the cats get in, he can just spray them. Cats hate this very much, and its been used as discipline for cats for a while. ALSO, buy some cat deterrent. Its (to humans) scent-less, but it absolutely repulses cats. You just spray it on the car and around it, and they shouldn't go in AT ALL. You can also use this to keep cats from peeing everywhere. You can buy it at WalMart. Hope this info helps!

Keep the kittens inside your house.

Don't let them go outside anymore. What if he drove off with them in the car? They would die for sure! They could get hit by a car, or get lost. They will be mad at you, but its for their own good.
