I want an HDTV real bad cause my 35" tube is going dead, I am scanning on craigslist cause I dont have much cash, I am looking at a lot of 45"+ projection HDTVs for under 400, I am wondering if its worth it to buy a rear projection hdtv, or wait a while until the LCDs come down in price?

Just wait or go a week after Xmas store will have many returns and you get them for way less open item. Don't get projections tubes start looking bad after a few yrs.

Another reason to wait until after Christmas (since you're looking for a used one, anyway) is that some people probably will get new HDTVs and will be looking to sell their older model. Maybe they have smaller screens and the new one is a lot bigger. But, you might be able to pick up a perfectly functional hand-me-down at a great price.

LCDs came down considerably over the last year (a Sony I got for $1800 just over a year ago is on sale at Best Buy for $1350). But, I wouldn't expect that drastic a reduction again any time soon.

You only have a little over a year before theswitch to hdtv then you'll have to get another . Unless you have satellite or cable which do the switch for you but then again if you don't have hdtv the picture won't be the same
