Now when you say pull is the dog pulling back or forward? Techniques to correct this behavior will be different depending. Wanda K had a good idea about Cesar Milan (Dog Whisperer), the man is a genius and his techniques work along with being simple. Working around with a baby can be a little difficult but I'm sure you could start with some inside training. You really need to establish yourself as the leader of your family or as the dogs sees you, the pack. The idea is communicate with the animal that this is what you want to and this is how we do it. Most walking problems can actually be cured in a short amount of time. One key is to not over react. The dogs pulls, you stop, let him have his little fit and when they stop continue the walk again. Same if a dog falls behind, wait, be calm, when the protest is over continue. Two very important things. You lead the dog, not vice versa. Dog is next to you or behind you when walking...ALWAYS!!! This establishes who's in control. Second, move the collar up on the neck, show dog style, this gives you more command keeping the head up so the pup focuses more on you. Seriously check out the Cesar Milan show, rent the videos, then you'll catch on to what I'm saying. I've used his techniques on many dogs and they honestly work. There is no quick cure but if you stick with it in a matter of a few weeks you should be walking with baby too.

Look for something called a sporn halter. What it does is connect around the dogs shoulders in such a way that it causes the dog to tip forward on it's nose if it pulls. The dog hates the sensation. It's kind of a pain to get on the dog, but it works great and doesn't hurt the dog in anyway.

Try a head halter. It goes over her nose, like a muzzle, but the leash attaches under her chin. She won't be able to pull because when she does it will simply make her face backwards.

I used it for my dog when I had gotten extremely frustrated with her pulling and it worked well. She HATED it at first and kept trying to pull it off, and eventually it worked out well :)
