This afternoon I walked him and he walked fine. Then at 5 I walked him and he kept pulling.

Why?

Do I need to keep on working with him? Or is he just being a brat?

He is a Lab/Rotti/Husky.

He is 2 years old. He came from my old work(was an animal clinic-he was rescued from a storm drain.

I have had him for 2 years.
The first walk I was able to correct him and he walked with out sniffing and walked right by me.

The 2nd walk he kept pulling and sniffing and wanted to chase a cat that was running down the road.

U have to teach him u are the Mater..
and not to focus on the cat or the car or the boy or anything else but u.. U are the master and u are in control... constantly talk to him,, so he has to listen to u.. when he is distracted..

he should never... walk out in front of u.. either by ur side or behind u..
U are the Master and u come first.. he follows U>.
good luck..

Dogs can learn anything you want to teach them, but there's a difference between learning and performing. Him being a 'brat' doesn't mean he doesn't know what he's supposed to be doing - just that he didn't want to do it just then. This is why being consistent, and reinforcing the 'right' behaviour and correcting 'wrong' behaviour is always important.

You also need to keep working 'with' (not 'on') a dog, it's a lifetime process, not something you just do at puppyhood. How old is the dog anyway? Where did he come from, what's his story? How long have you had him? What happened on both walks? Those are all questions a person would need to know before they could begin to help you with your dog.

Also, I just saw your previous question on your dog being overweight and wanted to ask, what brand do you feed him? Because brand is just as important as how much he's getting.

Well, dogs can have all kinds of different mood swings just like humans. My dog does that alot too. It's just that he's being a brat. Don't worry nothing's wrong with your baby! He's fine! :)
