Not sure if you want to modify your guitar, but adding active pickups will give you incredible sustain

If the guitar is well constructed then sustain shouldn't be an issue. If it isn't sustaining sufficiently then its because something is loose and causing the guitar to lose energy. Is the neck a bolt on neck? If so make sure that everything is tight. If the bridge properly secured? Make sure that every bolt and screw is tight. If anything jiggles or rattles you will lose energy.

Beyond that you can increase your sustain through the use of effects, amps, etc. Typically sustain is caused by overdrive or feedback. A tube amp with high gain, or an overdrive/disortion pedal will dramatically help.

sustain works best with fuzz and tube amps. transistors don't sustain very well

You need a tube amp and then you over drive the pre and under drive the mains.

that mean input level up full and output level down to a decent amount.

you crunch the chord and let it ring and the tubes do everything else

reverb also help as does slap back

there are also sustain peddals, you have to experiment

boss tube
boss distortion
boss reverb
boss sustain

a tube amp is still a large requirement

those 12ax7s just love to carry those harmonics

also work with feedback, turn into the speaker stack and let it feed back a little

RR5 man thats a wicked nasty guitar i played one at a music store once
RIP Randy
anyways
What amp and effects are you using??
For me I use my Boss MT-2 for distortion and sometimes put on a chorus effect which gives it a great sustain
also the amp settings can contribute to sustain

You can do it the old school way, with vibrato. Or you can get an amp or pedal that does it for you electronically
