I'm moving to another state & it's a 14 hour drive. My car will be full of furniture and I'll be driving by myself. Packed to the max. Any tips for someone who's done that before so I can get myself and my luggage there safely? And so I don't run into anything unexpected?

Thanks!

make sure your tires are inflated properly with the extra weight. I would have it serviced and checked out before the trip.. Good luck

You have no worries here. The length of your trip can be done in one long day. Tiring but doable. If I have one tip for you its to get AAA that's the Auto club. They will help out if you have a break down not to mention maps and good advice for free from their offices. I really consider AAA to be one of the best tricks in the book and the best money you can spend (service for dollar value) It also entitles you to discounts just about everywhere. Just flash your AAA card and there you go.

Treat it like a fun adventure and it really will be.

Have your cell phone charged, your AAA card handy, check your tires, change your oil, tell a friend or family member so you can check in (and they can check in), take it easy. 14 hours can be done in a day but I would book a nice (safe to park with your furniture) hotel about 7-8 hours into your trip.
