You are mistaken for a deer type Chihuahua, it's not a breed it's a Chihuahua with different characteristics than that of your Standard breed. Deer Type's tend to be bigger than your average Chi. they have longer legs, NOT an apple shape head, they get bigger then 7lbs of the standard breed. They can range be from 8lbs-20lbs. They are still Chihuahuas but just different physical characteristics.

ADD: The word "deer" type have NOTHING to do with the coloring and or because it looks like a "fawn"....that is just stupid...people will assume it's because of the color..they don't KNOW what they are talking about.

The word "deer" refers to the shape of the forehead on a chihuahua. Apple heads are preferred over deer heads.

Nope, but there are some people who say some chi's have deer heads, instead of the apple shaped. It's not a breed characteristic officially, just a description.

No, just a fancy name to add, to sell puppies, and usually charge more for them. There is only Chihuahua period. (long hair, short hair)Anything else added to the name is just something a person comes up with for monetary purposes, or to make theirs sound special.
