I have Blu-rey player. Just want to know which is better and has the most selections..

Video and audio quality are identical. As to which format has better selection ... it depends on your taste. Blu-Ray has Disney so there are a higher proportion of kids pictures in that format. But there's lots of overlap. Because HD DVD has a more mature hardware platform extras tend to be more complete on HD DVD. But really there isn't much to differentiate the two formats!

I have both and neither format appears superior.

At the top of DVD Empire is a "BluRay" and "HD-DVD" tab that will show you number of titles, Studios and disks sold up to today.

BluRay came out earlier so has sold more disks. I strongly suggest you dive into the catalog for each format. While BluRay does have more titles, some of them are '16 Blocks', "Beerfest', "The Punisher" - not exactly blockbuster films.

Upcoming - Harry Potter is coming out on both. The third Pirates movie is coming out only on BluRay.

Nobody knows what format "Lord of the Rings" or "Aliens" or "Star Wars" might come out on.

Blu-Ray..is much better better quality
