Doesn't the objective and eternal basis by which people assume in order to derive the supposed meaning of their own lives fail to satisfy anything other than the urge to find that meaning? How is the idea that you only exist to serve and grovel before your Creator at all an acceptable answer to the meaning of life? How does it explain, given an afterlife, the significance of this life that we know exists?

As the other said...your life is a blank tablet...write upon it your own meanings and words. Your question is why the God (assuming there is one) concept still exists. Science and philosophy can only offer cursory answers to your question "What is the meaning of life". So into that vacum enters religion which purports to answer...Trust me it doesn't...Only you know and can establish meaning for your life. PEACE!
