The point of all the hatred? I doubt there's a valid one. Sometimes when things are just bad for a really long time, hatred is the only companion a person has. So, I doubt there's a point... it just is what it is.
Think about it.

I'm sure that there are Muslims who want nothing more than peace.
I'm completely positive, even, that there are Muslims who came to America for the same reason the first Pilgrims came...to escape religious persecution.
I don't "hate" Muslims...
But I do have a problem. The fact is that, while it is quite true that all Muslims are not terrorists, and it may even be true that a few Muslims are speaking out against the reprehensible actions of some others....it is also true that, at least currently, the majority of terrorists do seem to be Muslims.
For the time being, at least, while I don't hate Muslims, I don't trust them very much either.
As I say, there are "good" Muslims...unfortunately, the "bad" ones don't have flashing neon signs on their foreheads warning us "Evil Terrorist Muslim, Beware!"...in fact, just by looking, it is difficult to tell the "good" ones from the "bad" ones...so, in the interest of not getting blown up for not supporting Islam, for now, at least, I would rather not have Muslims as neighbors.
I hate it that I have to be that way, but I love my children, and I love my family and friends...
I don't want to be washing dishes one afternoon, and hear on the radio that some crazy Muslim extremist has taken my grandchildren's school hostage, or blown up the building where my brother works, or some other nonsense...surely you can see my point, I hope?
EDIT:
Personally, I think your religion is fake, and your prophet was a very violent man. I shudder to think what would happen if Islam ever became a serious power in my country.
For me, as for many other Christians, that, my friend, is a terrifying thought....

Oh BULLSTUFF!
Muhammad was never lashed. He was humiliated a time or three - mainly because he was such an easy target with his idiotic cult. He was also abused by his followers when they felt he wasn't being fair with the distribution of the stolen loot.
He routinely took action against his oppressors - real and perceived. There is a whole club of dead poets who offended Muhammed by making fun of him, and he arranged their assasination.
The quarayza tribe (or was it the quaraysh? I never can keep those two straight) had all their men and boys executed in the public square one afternoon -- 800 - 1000 deaths. Thier goods were distributed and their women sold as slaves. Their crime? Muhammd felt they didn't do enough to help him in a fight that they really had no interest in on either side.
We don't blame muslims, we blame Islam. If you are defending this murderous cult of death, then you are not part of the solution. hat makes you part of the problem. Islam cannot be reformed, because it has always been a cult of death.
What's the point of all the hatred? You tell me. I'm not the one who divided the world into Dar al-Harb and Dar al-Islam.

You get a medal from me. It doesn't matter what race or religion someone is, you ALWAYS have the extremist or fanatics in there making it bad for all the others. Example, look what happened in Ireland between the catholics and protestants and whats currently happing in other parts of the world. It only takes a small few to make the headlines and then you introduce the media. For whatever reason, the media sometimes has a bad habit of focusing in on very specific things on an interesting topic without really telling the whole story. They only talk about the parts that will "sell" their news coverage and neglect the rest of it. Myself, I'm a protestant. I have best friends that are catholic, jewish, muslim and many more. We all get along together fantastic and I wouldn't trade in any one of them. As far as I'm concerned....the "few" do not speak for me. I speak for myself.

It is all about 'power and control' - it always is.
Religions exist for this purpose - to control and manipulate the population - they do this by feeding us 'myths' and having us believe in the myths.
Oh, ordinary people don't understand the myths - you need priests to do that ... and so a profession is born, that has become the world's oldest scam.
When you put someone down, your own elevation of power goes up. That is how hatred works.
True spirituality is devoid of power. You should know this.
Religion takes away people's personal power, and grabs it (their power) for their own, and builds up their kingdoms here on Earth. Look at the Vatican as an example.

Salaam Alaykum,
Firstly Islam was the first religion giving women the right to vote, divorce, and have rights unrewarded to women in the prophet's time peace be unto him, It is radical clerics that violate our own religion on the treatment of women and the poor in Islam. Our Ummah has become corrupt and even violent..but Allah SWT does not in his infinite mercy condone violence in the human heart. Only justified is when a country is occupied by war. The sane Muslim's understand the teaching's of our Prophet Muhammad PBUH "Do not be to extreme in your religion take neither the left or the right but stay in the middle path." dress codes vary from region to region in Islam and most of the severe do not represent the entire1 Billion in almost every nation.
Wasalaam

I don't agree with people that are racist to Muslim's because Bin Laden. The whole 9/11 was set up by our government, he is just a face to take the blame. I dont hate my government, I actually love my country to death and will kill to defend it. But its sad that many Americans are ignorant to many facts around them and only believe what the media tells them. I despise people who judge all for some. There is always pros and cons in everything and I don't believe its fair all Muslims should be prejudiced for a few.

I agree with you whole heartedly. I have a friend who is a Muslim from Iran, and he is a very kind person who is devoted to his faith entirely. If most people would set aside their prejudice and make a few friends from a different culture, then they wouldn't judge a whole group by the horrible example set by a few bad apples.

I'm sure that there are plenty of sane Muslims that are as appalled by this story as everyone else. Unfortunately, the Muslims that happen to be in charge in Sudan don't seem to be very sane.

The media has brainwashed us in a way, that gives us the impression that Muslims are bad people. Sorry, but that's the truth. I'm East Indian, and Hindu, and my parents don't accept most Muslims because of what they did to Indian people, and specifically Hindus.
