I had a problem with my 93 sho cutting off in traffic, and jerking and bucking at times. It ended up being the cam position sensor. The alternator light on at idle is either too low an idle speed, or a weak alternator.
Now if your engine has a dead cyl or two due to bad plugs or wires, this could also cause the misfire, low idle speed, alt light on from low and erratic idle.
So if the engine idles rough, and you hear a steady popping at the tailpipe, think plugs and wires.

Battery light on means the battery isn't charging, so either the battery needs replaced, your alternator is going bad, or you have way to many electrical equipment running. If you have a stereo system try disconnecting a few components.
